Welcome Back!

Ontario is just getting back into the classroom and settling into routines.  I know that Norway has been back for a while so they are probably well into their routines.   At Tecumseh Vista there have been many changes.  Both Kyle and I have accepted positions outside of the classroom.  Kyle is now the math consultant for the Board and I am temporarily filling in as a math coach (til February :))  However, NORCAN is still going strong at Tecumseh Vista.  Plans are in the works to visit our partner schools in Alberta and speak at "Opening our Mathematical Minds" conference in Canmore.  Myself (and possibly Paul) are also going to Ranvik in November.  Apparently there is a lot of good stuff going on at Ranvik and I am hoping for the opportunity to team-teach with that staff there.

Our board just released their Math Task Force Report and have already begun taking steps to implement the recommendations thanks to new funding by the Ministry of Education.  The bottom line.  We are focusing on making math more conceptual.  By no means will this be an easy undertaking but our board is well on their way.  More on that later.
